Our Response to the Legacy Crossing Apartments Shutdown

Over 165 local families need your help.

On Monday, over 165 local families were displaced from Legacy Crossing Apartments due to unsafe living conditions. Our hearts are with every family searching for stability only days before Christmas.

In response to the community need, True Purpose is mobilizing our crisis prevention program to help meet the needs of the 165 displaced families. We’re also committing to offering life coaching services to these families in the weeks and months ahead.

This week, True Purpose will join arms with Heartland Family Services and collect household items to donate to the Legacy Crossing families as they are matched with safe, available housing solutions in our community.

The importance of quality affordable housing is such a need at this moment in time. The Legacy Apartment closure crisis demonstrates WHY our community needs to urgently make changes in policies and build affordable housing units.

Please bring your donation items (consider toilet paper, paper towels, bedding, pillows, shelf-stable foods, dishes, toiletries, etc. to our office. We’ll be collecting donations on December 22 and 29. Need to schedule a pickup? Email us here.
